I have a non-traditional path into product management. Will that hurt me in interviews?

Not necessarily, and in some cases it's an advantage. The key is learning to tell your story in a way that translates your background into product-relevant terms. If you've worked in solution architecture, technical consulting, or operations, you have direct experience with customer problems, cross-functional complexity, and system-level thinking — all of which are core PM skills. The challenge is usually framing: candidates with non-traditional paths sometimes undersell the product relevance of their experience, or spend too much time on technical details that don't land with interviewers. Your CSM and coaches will help you identify how to frame your story so that each element of your background maps clearly to what hiring managers are looking for. Separately, if you notice a gap in a specific interview skill (like staying in problem space before jumping to solutions), that can be addressed directly through behavioral prep and practice mocks.
