I received rejection feedback that I lacked "strategic acumen" and "leadership." What does that mean and what should I do?

This feedback typically means one of two things: either the company wanted someone with more years of director-level experience on paper, or the way you demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking during the interview didn't land strongly enough. Either way, bring the exact feedback to your coach — they'll assess whether it's a gap to actively work on or a situation where another candidate simply had more relevant experience. Don't internalize a rejection as a personal failure; you wouldn't have made it that far if the issue was you.
