I'm targeting a very senior or high-comp role. Will I need to do more than just apply?

Yes. The higher the level and compensation target, the more active your outreach needs to be. Passive applications alone aren't enough. You'll need to connect with multiple recruiters, PMs, and hiring managers at your target companies — building your presence in their Boolean searches and their awareness of who you are before a role is posted. Volume matters, and it takes more proactive relationship-building at senior levels.
