# Why should I connect with recruiters and hiring managers on LinkedIn?

There are two main reasons: (1) first- and second-degree connections help you show up in Boolean searches for your target companies, and (2) for companies you really love, you'll be able to see when recruiters post roles and reach out directly without it feeling like spam.
